Are we a front for the Conservative Party of Canada? Why we need to "Reform the 60's."
We have received several emails saying we have "sold out." Another said, "you are just a front for the Conservative Party of Canada." (All the result of yesterday's posting.) Let's look at these accusations:
You have sold out.
During the 60's, one of the code phrases was "down with authority." Well, we succeeded in this endeavor, more than we realized or could have imagined. Today, thanks in part to the activities of many of us in the 60's, we have inherited a society where there is no real right or wrong. So, what I believe is right and what you believe is right; even though we may believe something that is completely opposite. In other words, we have seen the creation of a philosophy known as relativism, or the absence of absolutes. Sold out? Yes, we certainly did sell out in the 60's but we don't intend to allow this sell out to continue. There are absolutes and unless we strengthen these absolutes our society will continue to slide into anarchy.
You are a front for the Conservative Party of Canada.
We have taken this political party to task in the past (look particularly at this link and this link) and we will take them to task in the future if they stop talking about absolutes and also slide into relativism. There are some in the party who would be just as comfortable residing in the Liberal Party or the NDP. If they get their way, the Conservative Party will also lose their moral right to exist. A right that has already been lost by the Liberal Party and the NDP. (Footnote: An interesting comment on this posting, in a posting by the FIG - Freaks into God - folk.)
